Winter Hiking Gear List

Hiking in the winter can be tricky so here's some of my favourite gear that makes the experience enjoyable.

Winter hiking in the Canadian rockies can be tricky. Dealing with the cold and being prepared for copious amounts

of snow can be challenging so I've collected this list of products to take the guesswork out when it comes to durable, reliable and comfortable winter gear.

Hillsound Trail Crampon

The Hillsound Trail Crampon is a must-have for anyone looking to hike or run on packed snow or ice. The 1.5 cm spikes provide excellent grip, while the ergonomic plate ensures added stability. The hinged plate flexes with the sole, making it both comfortable and stable. The velcro over-shoe strap keeps the device secure on footwear, and the rubbery harness easily stretches over most boots.

Buff Versatile Headband

This truly versatile tube that can be worn as a headband, mask, balaclava, beanie or neck warmer.I have also used mine as a scrunchie and face cloth.

MEC Fireside Fleece Jacket

This fleece goes with me everywhere from layering under my shell during winter adventures to staying warm on those summer nights. The Fireside fleece is the kind of cozy you’ll always want nearby. Made from a light and warm recycled fleece, this jacket is useful year-round.

Arc'teryx Beta Jacket

Made for all seasons this shell jacket is perfect for layering on top of those cozy fleeces in the winter. No moisture will get through while wearing this jacket on your adventures.

Whatever the season, it's always a great time to get outdoors!
